Introduction

This survey was created as part of our continuing efforts to both provide customized technical assistance for our members and to educate policy makers on specific needs.  The Annual NCUIH Conference 2010 will provide a space for all Urban Indian Health Programs to discuss (among ourselves and with Federal Officials) important and multi-disciplinary issues, such as the introduction and implementation of Health Information Technology (HIT) projects.

Connectivity


Fifty Eight Percent  (58%) of UIHPs reported having  T1 or ISDN, while 42% reported Broadband


Connected to Hospital

Only seventeen percent (17%) of UIHPs Surveyed reported that they are connected to a Hospital or another provider's system,
while  79% reported  they were not.

43.5% of UIHPs providing BH services reported  that these services are integrated with the medical department

Is billing centralized for both medical and behavioral?

54.5% reported UIHPs providing BH services reported  that tbilling is centralized for both  medical and behavioral health services

Can your behavioral program access medical information such as diagnosis or prescriptions (medication list) from your medical E.H.R electronically?        

30% reported  that the behavioral health program can access medical EHR electronically, while the vast majority ( 70%) reported no access.
